Who provides these faces

Chris Creates, LLC provides all watch faces and trial editions that Chris Creates publishes in the Garmin Connect IQ Store. For questions or privacy requests, email support@chris-creates.net.

Each face uses only some of the data described below, depending on its design and the fields you choose. A face’s store description and its page on this website list what it shows.

Time, date, and profile values

The faces read the time and date from the watch. Some faces also read values from your Garmin user profile, such as your unit preferences or your resting-heart-rate baseline, to format and calculate what they show. These values are used on the watch, and the face does not send them anywhere.

Health and activity readings

A face reads the health and activity values it shows from Garmin’s watch APIs. Depending on the face and the fields you choose, these can include heart rate, resting heart rate, steps, distance, calories, floors climbed, active minutes, altitude, Body Battery, stress, respiration, Pulse Ox, recovery time, sleep score, and watch battery. Available readings depend on your watch and Garmin data availability.

Some faces show graphs or recent trends built from Garmin’s sensor history, such as recent heart rate, Body Battery, stress, or Pulse Ox. A face processes that history on the watch for display; it does not save it to a file or keep its own health history. Some faces also calculate a local estimate from these readings, such as a readiness score; such an estimate is not a Garmin metric or a medical assessment.

Your sleep schedule

Some faces read the sleep schedule (bedtime and wake time) from your Garmin profile, to lay out the night, show a countdown, or switch between night and day layouts. A face that uses the sleep schedule follows your configured schedule; it does not measure whether you are actually asleep.

Notifications and complications

A face can show the number of notifications waiting on your watch. Notification message content is not displayed or collected by the face. Some faces also read values that Garmin provides as complications, such as sleep score, for optional fields.

Phone connection

Some faces read whether your phone is connected, to show a connection indicator or status line. The face does not store or send this state.

Trial editions

Trial editions store, on the watch, when they were first opened and whether the trial has ended. They use these values only to time the 72-hour trial period, and they do not send them anywhere. Trial editions have no account and no automatic billing.

Weather

Faces that show weather read Garmin’s cached weather on the watch. Depending on the face, this can include current conditions, temperatures, rain chance, humidity, UV, wind, sunrise, and sunset. Checking that cache does not make the face download new weather; Garmin’s weather service operates under Garmin’s policies. A face may show a weather location name supplied by Garmin, or a label you enter in its settings.

Location

Some faces use your location, for example to place a home pin or a target on a globe, to decide whether it is day or night where you are, or to get local sunrise and sunset. Depending on the face, it uses the watch’s last available GPS fix, a location it saved earlier, or Garmin weather’s observation point as an approximate fallback. A saved location may be old, and weather coordinates may be a weather station rather than your exact position.

No face tracks GPS continuously or keeps a route or movement history. A face that uses location keeps at most the latest location values it needs, on the watch. Location a face saves stays on the watch; the only location data a face sends is the weather-observation coordinates used by the automatic town lookup described below. Faces without a location feature do not request GPS fixes. Where a face shows Earth imagery, such as clouds and city lights, it is historical imagery stored with the app, not a live satellite view.

Automatic U.S. town names and Census requests

When Garmin provides no town name, some faces can look up a U.S. town name automatically. The lookup sends weather-observation latitude and longitude through Garmin Connect to the U.S. Census Bureau Geocoder at geocoding.geo.census.gov. These may be weather-station coordinates rather than your exact position. The service returns a place name; availability and coverage vary.

Results are reused for up to 24 hours near the same coordinates. Requests use recent weather coordinates; unsuccessful requests may be retried at 30-minute background intervals. Depending on the face, background lookups stop once a usable result is cached, or run only when the face finds that a lookup is needed. A manual location label suppresses automatic town requests.

Where a face offers an “Automatic U.S. town lookup” switch, automatic lookup is on by default; you can turn it off in the face’s settings. Visiting this website does not change that setting. Where a face offers a setting to show or hide a location target, it controls the drawing, not all location processing. These controls and defaults may change; this notice will be updated to match.

What stays on your watch

Each face stores its settings, such as colors, fields, units, and refresh intervals, on the watch and through Garmin’s settings sync. Where a face offers custom text, the words you enter are stored with its settings. Faces that use location also retain the latest cached location values needed for their features, rather than a movement history. Many faces hold weather readings and measurements only in memory, for display.

Cache expiry limits reuse; it does not mean immediate deletion from storage. Turning off a feature may leave previously stored values. You can remove the face and its app data through Garmin’s controls; contact support if you need help clearing saved information on your model. We cannot remotely read or erase your watch storage.

What the faces do not do

Apart from the automatic town lookup described above, the faces make no network requests of their own. The face code does not send your health values to Chris Creates servers or include advertising or analytics services.

Website visits and support

This website does not ask your browser for GPS, add advertising trackers, or provide an account system. The hosting provider processes ordinary web requests, which can include IP address, requested URL, and device/browser information for delivery and security. Hosting and email providers may process information outside your country under their own terms.

Support links open your email app. If you send a message, Chris Creates and its email provider receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond and troubleshoot. We retain correspondence only as needed to handle the request and related recordkeeping or legal obligations. Ask us to access, correct, or delete your support information; we will respond subject to applicable requirements. Please avoid sending unnecessary private health or location details.

Other services and purchases

Garmin handles its platform, permissions, and store transactions. Census handles geocoder requests. Their policies apply to those services: Garmin Connect IQ privacy and U.S. Census privacy. We do not receive your payment-card details through these watch faces.

Information you send to Chris Creates is provided to Chris Creates, not Garmin. Garmin is not responsible for information you submit to us. We do not sell your personal information.

Requests and changes

Privacy rights vary by where you live. Contact support to ask about access, correction, deletion, or an objection to processing. You may also have the right to contact your local data-protection authority. We will update this page when our data practices change and show the revision date above.
